Whole Geode

Geodes are rocks with a secret. The exterior of the most common geodes is generally limestone or a related rock, but inside is a sparkly quartz crystal or chalcedony deposits. A fun activity for kids to break open and find the beauty their geode contains!

*Note: It is recommended to place the whole geode inside a sock or other fabric before breaking with a hammer or mallet to contain all pieces and ensure safety.
